Hand Of God

Hand Of God
Lyrics by: Darren Wayne Penrose

The morning breaks across the land
With muddy boots, I take my stand
Coffee hot, sky splash of gold
Same old confession in story mode
They say He’s there in whispered prayer
In thunder loud and lightning scare.
But here beneath this old ball cap
Sometimes I wonder where’s e at

Is it just the wind or is it grace?
That keeps this farm in its place
The sun still rises, day by day
And it pushes seeds through stubborn clay
The rain still falls though more than I need
And those dogs just keep running off
But Im so blessed with a loving family
Maybe that’s the hand of God on me

Tractors break and fences bend
We patch it all and try again
The harvest comes, not rich, not poor
But there’s always something to thank Him for

Is it just the wind or is it grace?
That keeps this farm in its place
The sun still rises, day by day
And it pushes seeds through stubborn clay
The rain still falls, though more than I need
And those dogs just keep running off
I’m blessed with the dirt under my feet
Maybe that’s the hand of God on me

Maybe He don’t show with flash and flame
But in the quiet, He signs His name
On every leaf, on every tear
In all that stays, and all that’s near

Is it just the wind or is it grace?
That keeps this farm in its place
The sun still rises, day by day
And it pushes seeds through stubborn clay
The rain still falls, though more than I need
And those dogs just keep running off
God gave me a family that I never will deserve
Maybe I still have a light in me to
Yeah, maybe that’s…
The hand of God on me
